The images below display an assembly that we produced for a steel bridge with a wooden deck in Maryland which is intended to prevent the bridge from going downstream in the event of a washout. The bridge abutment is 2’-11" wide and it is built on three 45 feet deep caissons. The round bar is 2" diameter x 14" between the legs x 36" overall length from ASTM F1554 Grade 55 Steel which has been Hot Dip Galvanized to ASTM A153. The spelter socket which is attached with a 17-Ton Safe Working Load (170,000 pound Ultimate Breaking Strength) Anchor Shackle was produced with 1-1/4" diameter Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) with a Ultimate Breaking Strength of 159,800 pounds. Customer took delivery in February 2011.
