COVID-19 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Updates

COVID-19 Updates as it affects us

Dear Valued Customer,

The Coronavirus also known as COVID-19 outbreak continues to escalate here in the US and globally . At Industrial Hardware & Specialties, we are closely monitoring and following the CDC,  State and local authority’s recommendations. We want to ensure the health and safety of our employees, their families and our valued customers and associates.

On March 9th, 2020, New Jersey Governor Phillip D. Murphy announced that New Jersey is under a State of Emergency. This Emergency Order requires that all non-essential businesses must cease operations. Industrial Hardware & Specialties Inc. is ”EXEMPT” from this order as we are currently considered an ESSENTIAL BUSINESS.  We are making adjustments in our daily business activities to avoid virus transmission and continue to make changes as needed.

Industrial Hardware & Specialties, Inc. will remain open to support our customers. We dedicate ourselves to providing you the very best customer service and support possible during these challenging times. We have worked hard to ensure our supply chains are stable to minimize any disruptions or delays as possible. Furthermore, our critical on-site staff utilizes hygienic supplies and adequate space to do their jobs safely.

For the unforeseeable future, the following rules apply:

  • Employees or visitors with flu-like symptoms and of course those who have knowingly exposed to COVID-19 must not come to our facility for any reason whatsoever.
  • Customers who want to pickup orders must call in advance. We will maintain social distancing during pickup.
  • No visitors allowed in our facility EXCEPT to drop-off or pickup materials adjacent to our warehouse facility's overhead door.
  • Additionally, mail and other small packages are dropped-off in the office vestibule.
  • Of course, no face to face meetings or direct contact permitted.

The following italicized statement was extracted from the UPS website and reasonable to assume it applies to FedEx and USPS delivery services.

UPS is maintaining delivery services except where limited by government restrictions. We are working in partnership with governments around the world to obtain exceptions that allow our operations to continue wherever possible, even in restricted areas.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have stated that the likelihood of novel Coronavirus contaminating cardboard or other shipping containers is low. -end of UPS statement

However, as noted in the following National Institute of Health Tuesday, March 17, 2020 update : " ...coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel."

You can count on us to execute the very best disciplines possible to support you our valued customer now and in the future. We will continue to offer the very best service and support possible. This continues to be a rapidly developing situation and I encourage you to follow the CDC for the most up to date information.
