These Self-Drilling Screws are designed to be used when you need to attach wood to metal.This self-drilling fastener is made of a zinc plated steel. The zinc plating is applied electrically to the fastener providing a protective barrier that helps prevent oxidation. Salt sprayed tested to 24 hours, the 355-D820Z should only be used in indoors or in non-corrosive applications. These 8-18 self drilling screws have a bugle head and should be installed with a #2 phillips drive. The fastener is 2" long with a .035 - .104 drill capacity. The screw is equipped with a #2 point. What sets the 355-D820Z apart from the other self-drilling screws offered is that it has an unthreaded screw section after the self-drilling point. This unthreaded section will act as a pilot point allowing drilling without thread engagement.
